19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a challenging year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
He rescued four early break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
